| Sargent Center Sponsors: Parent Workshop on ‘Childhood Feeding Problems’ Sargent Rehabilitation Center will hold a ‘Link to Learning’ parent workshop on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 7-8:30 pm at the Center, 800 Quaker Lane, Warwick. The topic is “Childhood Feeding Problems” and the presenters are Debra Lobato, PhD, Director of Child Psychology and Clinical Psychologist; Beth Pinkos, MS, RD, Registered Dietician and Special Teams Coordinator; and Patti Gricus, MS OTR, Pediatric Clinical Specialist in Occupational Therapy, all from the Hasbro Children’s Hospital GI Feeding Program. The workshop will discuss how to distinguish between simple picky eating and significant feeding problems in children. Members of the multidisciplinary Feeding Program will discuss the range of feeding problems that are encountered in childhood, with a focus on feeding problems among children with special needs. Strategies to improve children’s eating and family mealtime will be shared. | Washington Trust Launches 10th Annual PB Xpress Largest product-specific food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank aims to reach 100 tons of peanut butter in its 10th year With Rhode Island’s hunger rate at its highest level in a decade, Washington Trust has launched its 10th annual peanut butter drive – the PB Xpress -- with an ambitious goal – to collect 23 tons of peanut butter in March and April for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Reaching this goal would put the total amount of peanut butter collected in the last 10 years at the 100-ton mark. Created by Washington Trust in 2001 as a nutritious way to help fight hunger in Rhode Island, the PB Xpress has to date collected 154,000 pounds or 77 tons of peanut butter for hungry Rhode Islanders. It’s the largest product-specific food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and makes an impact by capturing the philanthropic spirit of its employees and of Rhode Islanders across the state.
