Fireworks at Dusk

Get a jump on your July 4 celebration when we launch the annual fireworks display from Town Beach Pavilion on Wednesday, July 3rd. The more the merrier for this patriotic event, so bring the whole gang and all the accouterments — chairs, blankets, picnics, and glow sticks for the kids. Live music starts around 7:30 pm and the fireworks hit the sky as soon as it's suitably dark, probably around 9.

You’ll be able to see the rockets’ red, white and blue glare from almost all points on the island, so you can join the crowds for oohing and ahhing at Town Beach (just a short walk from the ferry along Corn Neck Road), or find your favorite secret spot for a more private view

Annual July 4th Parade & Steak Fry
http://www.blockislandinfo.com/island-events/annual-july-4th-parade-steak-fry

We can’t guarantee 76 trombones or 110 cornets, but if you love the traditions of a simpler time, don’t miss the annual Block Island July 4 parade, starting at 11am from Veterans Park, just south of Great Salt Pond. Come early and take your place along the parade route so you can watch the floats, bands, clowns, and kids marching in formation across the island.

For 2019, the parade theme is "Favorite TV Shows, Past and Present".

After the parade ends, head over to the Fire Barn on Beach Ave. for another traditional Block Island event, the Annual Steak Fry benefiting the Block Island Fire Department. From 12:30 to 3:30, they’ll be serving up an All-American feast of steak, corn on the cob, watermelon and salad. In a word, yum.
